5 Ways To Keep Yourself On The Healthy Side Every Day

What you put into your health is what you get out of your health. Here are five easy ways to stay on the healthy side of life each day.

  • Hydrotherapy: Hydrotherapy isn’t reserved for fancy spa days when you dip in and out of different temperature pools. Regular hydrotherapy experiences can do wonders for your immune system, your skin, and your cells. While in the shower, switch between hot and cold water for 5-15 minute intervals. Have you ever heard of how hitting your hair with the “cold shot” on your blow dryer can lead to extra shine and sheen? Rinsing your conditioner under a cold water shower can do the same.
  • Go to sleep at a regular time: Some women are night owls and some are not. Everyone has a different sleep pattern. However, everyone is recommended to get at least 6-8 hours of sleep per night, though some scientists suggest that 8-10 hours is better. Regular sleep times might sound boring. For your brain function, your immune system, and your body a regular sleep routine is very exciting.
  • Make hydration a priority: Women need to be regularly hydrated for a few reasons. First, the human body needs water. A general rule of thumb is drinking 8 full glasses of water a day. For those looking to stay especially hydrated, drinking half of your body weight in fluid ounces is recommended. Hydration helps regulate hunger, mood, brain function, and skin. Not enough water can lead to dry skin, achy bones, a slow mind, and food cravings.
  • Consistent, healthy eating: The typical recommendation for eating three full meals a day and three small snacks in between is spot on according to many doctors of different disciplines. Metabolism relies on constant support. Shakespeare once said that “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”. A scorned woman is one thing, but a hungry woman, even a hangry woman is quite another. Eating regularly keeps your brain sharp, your metabolism running, and your energy consistent. Without constantly sending your body into peaks and crashes, you stay more regulated.
  • Take vitamins and minerals: Women face some diseases more than men do. Osteoporosis, for example, is a serious threat to women’s health. A daily multivitamin is a good way to get the daily dose of vitamins and minerals you need. Working with a naturopath or a holistically inclined doctor can help you determine the vitamins you specifically need to support the unique makeup of your body.
