7 Days Of Self-Love

February is the time for love. We outwardly show our love and appreciation for others by buying flowers and chocolate and making extravagant plans. Do we do the same with ourselves? Self-love is just as important, even more important, maybe, as the love, we show other people. After all, you can’t pour from an empty cup. You must create the time to love yourself and practice self-care, no matter how busy you are. We know most people push off their self-care to get their other responsibilities done. Start off this month by giving yourself opportunities to care for and love yourself. Here are small things you can do to lead up to Valentine’s Day that promotes self-care. 

Day 1: Clean

The physical location where you spend your time is important. The more clutter you are physically in, the more your head will feel cluttered. Try to clean up today by taking a few things you don’t use and donating them or throwing them out. Make a place for yourself that is mess-free. 

Day 2: Connect

Human connection is vital for a happy life. Try to reach out to a friend and schedule coffee or another calming activity. You can even do something as simple as walking around the neighborhood with a friend or riding your bike to a park. This also promotes exercise, which is fantastic! If you feel like you have enough human connection, but you still lack something, try connecting with nature. Step outside and enjoy the fresh air. This is important, too.

Day 3: Technology detox

By the middle of the week, you might be feeling worn down and tired. Something that can drain your energy fast is technology. Try today to put down your phone and stay off social media. You’ll be able to feel your energy levels rise. Spend the time you would spend online by treating yourself to something you love. 

Day 4: Pamper yourself

Take a few minutes today to pamper yourself. This doesn’t have to be anything extravagant. Take 30 minutes to do a face mask and take a warm bath. Try not to rush through this time. It’s a good way to practice some self-care. 

Day 5: Relax

By this point, the week has been long. Try to relax today. Save up your energy for next week by practicing a relaxing hobby or craft. Try journaling or watch your favorite movie. Little things to help you relax are important. 

Day 6: Indulge in food

Make a nice meal for yourself. Take the foods you love and throw in some of your favorite flavors. Don’t overdo it, but while you are creating something special, make sure to be mindful of each action. Focus on what you’re doing and tasting. 

Day 7: Take yourself out

If you are feeling alone during this Valentine’s Day, take yourself out! You should be showing yourself the love you show other people. Allow yourself to do something you love by yourself! Be in the moment. You’ll find yourself having a good time.
